1. The mounds and dale of lustrous light
That lie near Thanets Shore
The hidden grotto by the moons cave
Where the Isles secrets lie in state
Where the beaches glow
And the North Sea blows
Where the straights of Dover flow
There lived a prince of fairy blood
One day to rule Thanets Shore
2. His kingdom stretched both far and wide,
Sister only to Avalon.
And magic flowed through his fingertips
For he was a fisher king
His hair was long and never shorn,
And he was my only joy
I am shackled to your hearts desire
Across long space and time

3. He was pulled away on a secret wind
Sailing over an angry sea
The horns did sound his ship sailed west,
I may never hear his voice again.
Or the feel of his arms enfolding me,
He's the only one I adore,
My life will be spent while waiting for him
By the banks of Thanets Shore.
4. Farewell to the Isle’s castle grand.
Farewell to the foggy dew.
Where the sacred fires burn through the night
Dent de Lyons towers fall in ruins
Near there I dreamt my youthful days
But alas they are all gone
For cruelty has banished him
Far away from the Thanet Shore
